The College provides computerized online testing, which permits you to conveniently test when you feel prepared. The College's examinations are administered at participating PSI Testing Centers, Prometric Testing Centers, or Schroeder Measurement Technologies ISO Quality Professional Testing Centers ("ISO"). Certain exams may also be proctored by a disinterested third party (DTP).
A DTP must be someone with whom you have no business or family relationship. Business relationship is further defined as working within the same company regardless of physical location, title, or position. The proctor may not be a current student with the College for Financial Planning. The DTP proctor must register through the College's Proctor Registration process.
Prior to taking your end-of-course examination, sign in to eCampus to verify that you are eligible for the examination.
State Insurance Continuing Education Credit
State Insurance Continuing Education Credit is regulated by individual state agencies, and some states have very restrictive rules regarding forms, proctors, and procedures. If you plan on using your course for State Insurance CE credit, it is critical that you visit our State Insurance CE Information page for information and requirements specific to your state before you select an online testing option.
Continuing Education Courses
Final exams for continuing education-specific courses are delivered online through eCampus and are not proctored.
End-of-course examinations are up to four hours in length and consist of multiple-choice questions. Examinations are delivered online through a secure web-based interface. A score of 70% or higher is required to pass the exam. You will receive your results immediately upon submission of the exam, with feedback indicating relative strengths and weaknesses of your exam performance across each learning objective. Individual test questions are not available for release to students. Exam format and administration are subject to change.

You are required to:
- conduct yourself in an ethical and professional manner at all times before, during, and after the examination;
- perform independently on the examination, without assistance, including but not limited to the use of study materials, books, notes, reference materials, and consultations with other persons; and
- protect the security of the examination.
You are prohibited from:
- falsifying any aspect of the exam;
- duplicating test materials;
- furnishing any other person or entity with questions or answers contained in the exam.
Failure to abide by these expectations or engaging in any prohibited or unethical behavior may result in action by the Academic Disciplinary Committee and may result in discipline up to and including your dismissal as a student of the College for Financial Planning.
When taking an exam at a College-approved testing center, you are subject to that center's policies and procedures, including any fees associated with rescheduling and cancellation.
Schedule an Exam
Before calling to schedule your exam, check your exam eligibility dates by clicking on the course title link in eCampus.
Since appointment availability varies by site and time of year, it is advisable to allow four to six weeks lead time when you schedule your examination.
Call the National Call Center listed below for each testing vendor, not the local site. Identify yourself as a student of the College for Financial Planning.

PSI allows students to schedule exams through an automated online system 24 hours a day. When scheduling an exam through PSI, you will be asked to provide your Testing Eligibility ID (aka student ID number) and Name.

Schroeder Measurement Technologies/ISO Quality Professional Testing Centers

ISO offers easy-to-follow instructions to schedule your exam.
When scheduling an exam through ISO, you will need your College assigned login and password that were sent to you upon your enrollment in the course. Your login is your email address and your password is your Testing Eligibility ID (aka student ID number).
Testing Center Policies
Your testing fee and eligibility may be forfeited if one of the following occurs:
- You do not show up for a scheduled exam.
- You arrive for an exam more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time for your exam.
- You schedule an exam for which you are not eligible.
- You do not bring two signed forms of identification with you, one of which must include your photo.
- You miss the deadline to cancel or change the date and time of a scheduled exam. You must make and confirm all cancellations/changes through direct contact with the testing center, not the College for Financial Planning. Leaving a message on a recorder or a voice mail is not sufficient to confirm cancellation/change.

You are responsible for selecting an individual to serve as your disinterested third-party proctor. A disinterested third party (DTP) must be someone with whom you have no business or family relationship. Business relationship is further defined as working within the same company regardless of physical location, title, or position. The proctor may not be a current student with the College for Financial Planning. Any financial arrangement made between you and the proctor as compensation for proctoring services or use of a computer and/or the internet is your responsibility.
The proctor is responsible for ensuring that you meet the requirements for legitimate completion of the exam. The examination must be administered on a computer with an internet connection that meets the computer requirements listed below. The exam may be taken at any location upon which you and your proctor agree.
The DTP proctor must register through the College's Proctor Registration process.

Where do I take an exam?
CFP® Certification Professional Education Program students: If you use a disinterested third party as your proctor you can take the exam from any computer with an internet connection that meets the computer requirements stated on our website. Be sure you can spend up to four hours of uninterrupted time at the location you choose. You can also take your exam at an approved testing center and pay a testing fee.
Professional Designation and LUTCF® students must test at a testing center and pay a testing fee for each exam. After paying your testing fee to the College, you should contact the testing center directly to schedule your exam. For more information click the Testing Center tab.
What is the best time of day to take an exam?
Ideally, you should schedule your exam to begin during the College's normal business hours of 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Mountain Time. You are welcome to schedule your exam outside these hours; however, you will not be able to contact the College for technical support.
Can I use a calculator on the exam?
You may use a financial calculator that is not alpha-programmable. Please reference the Approved Calculator List.
Do I have to use the same proctor for each exam?
No, you can use a different proctor for each exam if you prefer. However, each proctor has to register on the College's website with their own unique username and password.
Do I have to complete the exam in one sitting?
Yes, exams must be completed in the four-hour time limit. If you require special accommodations, please complete the submit a Request for Accommodations Form or contact the Student Services Center at email@example.com or 1-800-237-9990 option 2 for more information.
Can I change my answers?
You can review all exam questions and change your answers as often as you like before clicking on the Submit button. Once you click on the "Submit Exam" button, answers cannot be changed and the exam cannot be accessed.
Do I receive immediate results?
Yes, the exam is graded immediately after you submit it and the Exam Report is displayed.
How will the College know the results of my exam?
Your exam information is sent via the internet to the College. Our computer system grades your exam, records the information, and immediately returns the results to the terminal on which you tested. Your grade report can also be viewed and printed for up to eight months following the completion of your course from eCampus.
What are the computer requirements?
Any modern web browser should be able to display the exam. View the computer requirements tab for more information.
I was unsuccessful on my first exam, how long do I have to wait to retest?
It is suggested that you wait a minimum of 24 hours before you retest. This gives you time to do additional study on the subject matter.
How many times can I test?
Professional Designation and LUTCF® students must test at a testing site and pay a testing fee for each exam attempt. You may test as many times as needed. A rescheduling testing fee must be paid to the College at least 24 hours before you want to test.
CFP® Certification Professional Education Program/Course tuition includes two attempts on the final exam. Additional attempts require payment of a rescheduling testing fee that must be paid to the College at least 24 hours before you want to test.
My proctor has lost/forgotten their username and password, now what?
If you are a proctor and have forgotten your password, you can reset your password here. A reset password link will be sent to the email address provided during registration. If you do not receive an email, please check your spam folder. The College staff cannot provide proctor information over the telephone or through email.
I am located outside of the United States. How do I take an exam at an approved testing center?

You can access your exam by logging into onlinetesting.cffp.edu or from a link to the exam on your course's information page on eCampus. For exams proctored by a disinterested third party, you will use your student login and password provided by the College at the time of your enrollment. This is the same login and password used to access eCampus and your online study materials.
